Hello!

WELCOME TO OUR
ADOPTION PROFILE

Our names are Nick and Jeff.  We're already partners, husbands, uncles, and best friends.  Now we're seeking a promotion: we're ready to add "daddies" to that list.

We recently moved cross country to Denver, Colorado for the mountains, the adventures, and the sunshine – but MOSTLY to be closer to our nephews.  (Okay... and their parents too!)  Now we live just one mile away from Graham (6) and Aiden (4) and get to be a regular part of their lives!  They have filled our hearts with so much joy, play, and laughter.  We’re head-over-heels for these boys, and in love with being their uncles.

We have a rock-solid marriage, a wonderful family, a beautiful home, and lots of love to share – especially with our future birth family.   (Plus we've also been practicing our "dad jokes."  #Prepared)

We can only imagine all the feels you must be feeling, but we want you to know that you can count on us to be empathetic, honest, respectful and compassionate.  While we don't know you yet, we already admire what a strong and loving person you are for considering adoption.  We do not take this lightly.

We recognize what an enormous decision lies before you.  Our goal is to give you a glimpse into who we are, what our life is life, and the love we would provide your child.

Thank you for reading our story, and for your consideration.

With love and gratitude,

Nick & Jeff

MEET THE GUYS:

At heart I’m just a great big kid.  I have a huge imagination, I still make time to be a goofball and to play, and I love to make people laugh.

Family means the world to me - I'm the oldest of three. (I have two beautiful and talented sisters.) The three of us have been extremely fortunate to have parents who have always shown us their unconditional love and support.  The child we adopt will receive nothing less.

I love the outdoors... Hiking, camping, kayaking. I also love the indoors... hotels, restaurants, and museums.

By day I work in hotel marketing.  I like that it's both creative and analytical work, and that every day is different. (It also gives us the opportunity to travel the world together!)

Having worked in hospitality for nearly 20 years I also really love to entertain.  Dinner parties and holidays are my jam!

In my free time I love to have a project.  Home décor, home improvements, photography, creative writing, and art projects are some of my favorite ways to express myself.

My favorite thing about life is laughter, and I am a lucky man because my life is full of it.

I am a live music lover who has been fortunate enough to see more shows than I could count. I love the entire experience of seeing live music, the venue, the talent, the common interest of thousands of people.

I am a very social person, most trips to the store (in a normal world) will end with me “making a new friend”. I think years of working in the hospitality industry has given me a super power to talk to anyone.

Acts of service are my love language, I enjoy doing things for others and the joy it brings them.

By day I am Sales professional, the role suits me well. I get to use my super power to connect people and develop relationships.

Most weekends you can find me cooking, being entertained by my nephews or exploring new hiking trails.

Our Story
HOW WE MET

Picture it... Christmastime... 2018...

A mutual friend had just introduced us online, and we were texting.  Non-stop.  We both felt an immediate connection... but we were still trying to keep our feet on the ground...

The effort was futile.

Our first date was a few days later, and our connection was undeniable.  It was love-at-first-sight.  We've been inseparable ever since.

Ever the romantics, we both knew we'd eventually find each other.  (It was already written in the stars.)  We feel the same way about the child that will come into our lives.  (They're the "little dipper" to our "bigs.")  We already have love beyond measure on reserve for them.

Fast forward... we got married, moved cross country, built a beautiful home together, took incredible vacations, and even got matching ampersand tattoos.  (Oh... and Christmastime has never been more magical.)

We're ready for our next great chapter of our story:  Fatherhood.

Our Thoughts On
FATHERHOOD

25.jpg

We've been discussing our thoughts on parenting since even before our first date.  This is one of the most important (and most beautiful) ways that we're compatible.  At the core of it all we believe in absolutely unconditional love.

We often daydream about who our child will grow up to be - but that decision will be completely up to them.  They will grow up knowing that they're loved for exactly who they are.

Unconditionally.

We will provide an environment for their imagination, creativity, and confidence to thrive, and we will model for them how to find strength through vulnerability, how to identify and process feelings, and how empathy is a superpower.  We will be their biggest fans, their safe harbor, and their rock solid foundation.

Families Come In All
SHAPES & SIZES

Family is much more than blood.  RuPaul is famous for saying "As gay people, we get to choose our families."

We're blessed that the love of our immediate family is amplified by the love of so many chosen brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents, friends and teachers.

We hope our family will grow to include the birth family of the child we’ll adopt (After all, how could we possibly love a child, but not those who gave them life?), but no matter what form our relationship takes we’ll build it together, and make sure it works for everyone.  Especially the child.

As Glennon Doyle says in her book: Untamed,  "There is no one way to live, love, raise children, arrange a family, run a school, a community, a nation. The norms were created by somebody, and each of us is somebody. We can make our own normal."

FAVORITE THINGS

Welcome To
OUR HOME

Living in Denver is so exciting - there's so much to do and explore.

From the end of our street we can see the entire front range of the Rocky Mountains - which frequently call us to go hiking.  Our neighborhood is full of parks, playgrounds and bike paths.

The Highlands are home to some of our all-time-favorite restaurants, and the RINO District has some of the greatest street art we've ever seen.

Best of all - it LITERALLY takes longer to listen to a song on the radio than it does to drive to our nephew's house.  It's magical living so close to our tribe.

We've already made so many wonderful memories in our new home: Sunday family dinners, our Christmas cookie baking marathon, and our New Year's Eve bash top the list.

We have plenty of room for guests, Nick has a really cool home office, and our back patio has quickly become one of our favorite hangout spots.  Our basement is a big hit with our nephews: we added colorful murals, a well stocked playroom with a cozy hidden fort, and a projector for movie nights!

Come in and stay awhile!
